I sing a song to you this day,

A simple, soulful tune,

It tells of how I love you,

And of the time that soon,

Will usher in for you, dear,

A harmony complete,

That lets the sound of music play,

With its lovely beat. 

A rhythm of contentment,

A chord, a peaceful chime,

I sing to you of my intent,

To love you all the time. 

Each one who reads these words here,

I write these lines so true,

Listen to the song I sing,

For they are meant for you. 

A mighty chorus, a choir complete, 

Or singers in a throng,

Could not mean more than what I sing,

That fills this simple song.

It’s living love I sing of,

God’s meaning He imbued,

Through All of His creation,

So we can be renewed,

In body, mind, and spirit,

Heartstrings will vibrate too,

And living love’s sweet music,

Will synthesize what’s true. 

The final verse, the last sweet note,

Will come when you awake,

And join the symphony yourself,

So others then can take,

That step across the bridge of time,

And join as One Great Song,

With God’s eternal movement,

At home, where we belong.
