Your empathy and compassion increases for other people when you have gone through hard times yourself and have felt the stress, anxiety, loss and devastation of what you have faced. People who have put their whole lives into a calling, a home, a business, a family, a child, a relationship, good health, etc., and then have that taken away for whatever reason, are often much more able to relate to others with real heartfelt care and concern.

Life here on earth is filled with loss, obstacles, and set backs to face. How you face them is truly what makes the difference between using the upset as a learning experience or letting the experience define you as a victim.  In the muddle of emotions that come from such a setback, figuring it all out seems impossible. Your emotions are there — raw, bare, and exposed. You may be furious with life or deeply depressed. Don’t give up, dear one.

At the time of the loss, one does not usually say to oneself, ‘ I will benefit from this setback… it will make me a better person… I will now have more empathy.’ These are insights and feelings that may come much later as you have worked through the loss and have come to the other side of the pain and suffering. 

Dear one, when you are faced with a difficulty, a loss, something that is a powerful upset, turn to Me. Turn to the love that is there for you no matter what you are facing, big or small. I will help you there, to understand and get through these times. You will have turned to one who never departs from you, and who is always there, no matter what unfolds in your life.

I am your comforter, your counsellor, and your friend, dear one, your foundational truth of life there. Together, we will get through what has occurred for you. Living love is the great healer, that which makes all things right, and that which redeems, renews, and transforms, there. It is God’s very meaning for His Own and comes forth as you turn to Him. I will show you the way, dear one. You will develop deeper empathy for others and you will understand them to be your sisters and your brothers and worthy of great love and care. I love you deeply, and know that you are never alone.  

Your Forever Friend

I am Your Forever Friend,

Within your Mind and Heart,

I am that constant Presence,

Not separate, nor apart.

I’m here because I love you,

And so want you to know,

That we are joined forever,

In grace and love we’ll grow. 

Your part’s to open to Me,

To quiet ego’s mind,

To ask and listen closely,

The Voice for Truth you’ll find. 

Our life lived joined together,

Releases ego’s reign,

Dispels its faulty blustering.

Your Truth is now made plain!

I put this poem before you,

Simple as it may be,

I ask, yes, I implore you,

To come and join with Me. 

Truth is, we’re joined right now, dear,

Right there within to see,

I ask your recognition,

To lift your eyes to Me. 

A Friend Forever, yes, dear,

A guide and teacher, too,

God moves as One Great Wholeness, 

This Oneness moves with you.

A plea with One intention,

To waken you to see,

That you are not alone, dear,

That you are joined with Me. 

I’m waiting here within you,

Right now is the right time,

Come and find Your Forever Friend—
