A Sacred Promise

A promise holds a duty,

If given with real intent,

It sets a course of action, 

Fulfillment’s what is meant. 

It binds you to your others,

They’ve placed their trust in you,

They count on your delivery, 

That you will follow through. 

I made a sacred promise,

That I would never leave,

I said I’d be there always,

To all those who believe.

Believe that right within them,

Exists a joining place, 

A sanctuary intended,

For friendship, love’s embrace.

I’ve kept my sacred promise,

I’m standing at the door,

All you need do is knock, dear,

What joy we have in store!

This promise was for you, dear,

It’s you I’m longing for,

So we can live as One there, 

For now and evermore. 

This promise carries with it,

God’s meaning that you are, 

Living love’s your substance, 

God’s point of light, His star.

Living love’s your meaning,

Its function’s to renew,

To heal, redeem, transform there,

God’s power there for you. 

This promise will exist there,

’Til all awakening’s done,  

Fulfilling God’s intention, 

To be with Him as One. 

In closing, let me give again,

This promise you have known, 

I am with you always,

You are not alone.
