'Twill Be An Awesome Day

Waking to the sunshine,

Begins a bright new day,

Breathing in fresh air there, 

Feels like a day for play!

Can I have fun with you, Lord?

With me, you do abide,

Do you view fun as foolishness? 

Should I push play aside? 

Let’s have a ball today, dear, 

I’m with you all the way,

A good day for diversion, 

Together, we will play!

I know you love to walk, dear, 

In nature’s lovely fields,

Taking in the beauty,

Of Spring, and what it yields.

To play in nature’s loveliness, 

To see the birds in flight, 

To hear their gentle music,

 What joy, what a delight!

The colors of creation,

No painter can compare, 

We’re awed at hues so radiant, 

God’s palette moves us, there. 

Fun goes with food we know, dear,

Let’s not forget to eat,

Let head to town for lunch, there,

Enjoy a yummy treat!

This day we’ve had together,

Some fun things we have done, 

The fun was in togetherness, 

You and Me as One. 

Whatever unfolds for  us, 

Be it work, or play,

As long as we’re together,

‘Twill be an awesome day!

In closing of this poem dear,

I state what you have known, 

I am with you always,

You are not alone.
