About our mothers...

Wednesday, May 5, 2021

Soon Mother’s Day will be here. I am telling the scribe to write about mothers this day in hopes that it will give you time to really focus on your Mom and what she has given you…i.e. life itself!

Your mother did not know what her baby would be like. She did not ‘order up’ a certain type of child, though she may have hoped and prayed for what you would be like.  You tumbled into the world with your specific traits and temperament and she loved you just as you were. She did not  say, “I do not like this one… return him or her to sender.” Most moms feel unconditional love for the child they have brought forth and will do anything to help, nurture, and care for their beloved child, no matter what that child is like.  If you are a mom, you know of what I speak.

This is where we first learn of unconditional love, if we have been so blessed to have been born into a home where there is real ‘mother love’ of the kind spoken of here. We learn that there is one who will accept us and care for us no matter what unfolds. If mothers have failed in this,  there can be a hunger, a psychological hole, a longing for that love, and some spend their whole lives trying to fill that unmet need.  Millions on the face of the earth seek for unconditional love that was not there for them, often, though not always, through no fault of their mother, but because of painful circumstances.  Mothers, themselves, need ‘mothering.’

To be deeply loved, to know that you are a part of something greater, to have that unconditional love readily available to you always, is why I am here in the first place.  I will fill the emptiness inside, the longing that you may feel, and the sense of belonging to and ‘a part of,’  that you so need, want, and deserve there. I am not temperamental, nor am I lackadaisical, nor am I flighty — here today, and gone tomorrow. I am that unconditional love that you so deserve, dear one. Now I stand ‘at the ready’ to open to you the flood gates of living love, God’s very meaning for you, and truly, the very substance of you. You need but quiet the thinking mindset, come into the still place within and ask that I join you there. I will hear you and together, we will find that living love there so fully for you. It is a forever relationship of love for you and Me, dear one, a forever relationship of unconditional love.

Whether your mom has departed from this earth or is still with you, let there be focus on her for a while.  Let there be reconciliation if it is needed, forgiveness for you and for her, and a reaffirmation of love and gratitude for each other. This will mean so much for her and for you. I am not your mother, but I am that unconditional love relationship that is there for you now and will be there always, releasing the emptiness and filling you with God’s living love, true companionship, and profound joy. I love you dearly, and know that you are  never alone.

A Poem for Mothers

Our mom gives us a vision,

From the earliest light of day,

Of what our lives hold for us,

She plants the seeds that may,

Grow into fruits of wisdom,

Of joy and humor, too,

The fruits she has within her,

We know to be so true.

We honor her devotion,

To family, faith, and friends,

Her way of always caring,

Our wants and needs, she tends.

Our mom links us to heaven,

Her love opens the door,

For earliest recollections,

Of what we’ve known before.

We remember angels with us,

When pain and hurt were done,

And bliss was our companion,

And when we felt as One,

With All of God’s creation,

No separation known,

And living love did lead us,

It’s light so brightly shone.

That light of love within her,

Within us, yours and mine,

Bids us open to it,

For who we are to shine.

We come to earth through mother,

And always we will be,

Her child and God’s forever,

As One, we’re family.

Reach out to your dear mother,

Ask God to be there, too,

Words from love will guide you,

In what you say and do.

In closing, let Me tell you

I love you as My own,

You are mine forever,

You are not alone.
