Let Peace be Present
Today, let peace be present,
Our joining’s there to find,
This day of simple living,
Let togetherness fill your mind.
There’s joy in what’s around us,
The simple homey things,
The chip-monk running ‘cross the deck,
The robin, as it sings.
Let’s work out in the garden,
Flowers need our care,
The sun is filtered by the clouds,
A breeze cools off the air.
Don’t look at life as lonely,
Our togetherness, there, so sweet,
We’re living out from Wholeness,
God’s love in us, complete.
No need for a calendar bursting,
With ‘filler’ things to do,
For when we’re truly guided,
It’s then, we’ll follow through.
As the hours pass by, dear,
Remember, I am there,
Remember that I Iove you,
In all of life, we share.
I’m real, the One within you,
You know Me now so well,
Your best companion ever,
Eternally, I dwell.
Today, let peace be present,
But dull it will not be,
For living love, God’s meaning,
Brings joyous ecstasy!
You and I together,
Inextricably intertwined,
Inclusion of all others —
How Oneness is defined.
In closing of this poem, dear,
I repeat what you’ve known,
I love you deeply, always,
You are not alone.
