Let’s be real with each other in relationships. Let’s not cover up true feelings with niceties in fear of hurting another or in fear of loosing that one. Directness, when done with love, joined with Me, is truly what is called for. When telling another how you feel, it is best to not attack that one or the situation, but to talk about the feelings you have, that you own. We cannot and should not control or seek to cause guilt or shame in another. Every one is a whole-souled individual with inherent rights to be who he or she is. 

If you go along pretending that everything is all right, you may avoid a crisis or a confrontation, but you will carry the dissonance with you and it will not serve you well. This is not to say that every little thing should be brought up, for much of the upset one may feel will dissipate in a day or two if it is just a reaction or a momentary discomfort. But if true unhappy feelings related to another persist over time and seem not to dissipate, facing them, being real with another and yourself is what is called for, in order for your peace to settle in.  

Being in close communication with your inner guidance, with Me, will give you the way forward there. As you and I have communicated over what is unfolding with this other, you will be given the right and most helpful next steps there to take. Love is the great healer in all things, and love is the fount of renewal for all. 

The scribe faced such a situation with her husband. As painful and as life changing as it was she was real with her feelings, and left the marriage. (See Discourse on Divorce and Divinity in Spiritual Writings .) Hers is not necessarily a script to follow. To leave a marriage should never be a whimsical nor reactionary decision. However, abuse is never justified, nor is long term unhappiness, lack of love, or lack of joy in living. There may be bumps in the road but these are not necessarily reasons to give up a marriage or long term relationship. You may have personal issues to sort out on your own, before you can truly commit to another.  Turn inwards to Me, dear one, and let us look at how God would have you be there. 

To be authentically you, to be real with what you are feeling is never a mistake. Truth with yourself is the foundational rock upon which a fulfilling life should be built. Turn inward to Me and let us discover the truth of who you are. Here lies the place where your authenticity, your originality arises from. Here lies the answer to your life quest there. I love you dearly, and know that you are never alone.  

Love is the Only Answer

Are you one who’s willing,

To open up your heart,

To hear what love will tell you,

How you can do your part?

Will you heed the calling,

To help each other, there?

As many face great hardship,

With heavy loads to bear.

I will give you guidance,

And open up love’s door,

As you turn within, dear,

And ask—it will outpour.

You’ll know just what to do, dear, 

Love’s meaning will pour through,

You’ll be God’s point of light there,

God’s love and light through you. 

As you listen closely,

You’ll know what should be done,

The love that flows right through you, 

Will heal and help that one.

You’ll be God’s point of light there,

Connected there as One,

Just like a radiant sunbeam,

Forthcoming from the sun.

I ask again the question,

Will you turn to Me?

Will you open up your heart,

His point of light to be? 

Love is the only answer,

To heal and to make new,

Let’s be that flow of love, dear,

I give My Love to you!
