The Fourth of July,  2021

A day for quiet listening,

Seems what’s in store for you,

A day when what unfolds there,

Will come from Source’s view. 

While many celebrate this day, 

The Fourth Day of July,

Others look at the nation, 

And question, ‘how’ and ‘why?’

The Pledge states very clearly,

Under God, this nation’s One,

Indivisibly united,

Each daughter and each son. 

The Pledge states there is liberty,

And justice’s there for all,

But seeing harsh reality,

Inequality’s the call.

Blacks and browns ill treated, 

The poor are hungry, there, 

The homeless line the streets in droves,

Addiction’s everywhere.

How can a wealthy nation, 

Stand by and not respond?

When people cry for help, there,  

Where is our common bond? 

The answer’s found within us,

If we but still our mind,

To open to Our Maker, 

Living love you’ll find. 

This love is God’s great meaning, 

Its power will renew, 

It heals, redeems, transforms, there,

It’s what we open to. 

Yes, we are a nation,

Yet each one must decide, 

To be the love that answers,

To bridge the great divide. 

You are your neighbor’s keeper,

For truly One we are, 

You are God’s point of light, there, 

You are His shining star.

I ask you as your brother,

Turn within to Me, 

Together, we’ll  make the difference, 

We’ll heal humanity. 

The Stars and Stripes, forever,

Brings freedom to the world,

All are brothers, sisters,

God’s brilliant love unfurled. 

In closing, I will tell you,

So close, we now have grown, 

We move as One together,

No more are you alone.
