To Change the Mind of a Mad Man

The day ahead looks bright and new,

And we anticipate,

Fulfilling our list of things to do,

For much is on our plate. 

Loading up the SUV,

With stuff to give away,

Running errands here and there,

Will busily fill our day. 

We’ll have some lunch at Wendy’s

The taco salad’s great,

Then to the bank and post office,

So our bills won’t be late. 

Yet with all we’re doing,

A dark cloud's overhead,

War’s happening in Ukraine,

And hundreds now are dead!

 A man has chosen power,

Over human life,

Has rallied his great army,

To kill. He’s caused such strife!

We shudder at the horror,

No, this cannot be! 

What can we do to stop it?

This man's insanity!

We ask that God will stop this,

We pray He’ll intervene,

Save those who are at risk there,

From war’s horrific scene. 

We know God’s love’s the answer,

Its power can stem war’s blight,

And so we send it forward,

Its power will set things right! 

We go about our day there,

Ask God to intercede,

To change the mind of a mad man,

God’s love will do the deed. 

I am with you always, 

We’re bound as one in love,

Available to everyone,

For all to partake of. 

I will never leave you,

So count on My Presence there,

We’ll find joy amongst the thorns, dear,

Love’s with us everywhere!
