Today’s a Day for Resting

Today’s a day for resting,

Let your work agenda go, 

Plan on doing nothing,

Let whimsey run the show. 

Spontaneous joyful living,

Also has its place,

It revives a weary spirit,

Releases gentle grace. 

No need to be so driven, 

There’s time to get things done,

I see no urgent reason,

Why we can’t have some fun.

Take a morning nap there,

Then whenever you want to,

We’ll have some lunch in town, dear,

If this you want to do. 

I know the work, the pressure, 

Of fixing your house to sell,

Brings worries and uncertainty,

About where you next will dwell. 

Your new home will be found ,dear,

And soon — it won’t be long,

You’ll be so glad, so happy,

You’ll sing a joyful song!

We’ll work, we’ll play, together,

In what comes forth each day,

We’ll joy in it as One, dear,

Love’s light will guide our way. 

In closing let Me tell you, 

What you so well have known. 

I am with you always,

You are not alone.
