Ask and you shall receive
Why is it that it is so hard to part with money? Many view it as a finite resource with only so much available, and for many seniors, at least, difficult to get more. For those who have lost their jobs or have been derailed by addiction, or mental health problems, abuse, or have been caught up in the legal system, money also may be in short supply. Inflation adds to the feeling of scarcity. You may get irritated when asked to donate to this or that cause, and often do so not at all, or begrudgingly. Many feel the right, the privilege, and almost the duty, to splurge on themselves, for they feel they have earned the money and deserve the right to get the benefit from it. ‘We’re only here once,’ they say, ‘I’m going to go for it.’
How many times have you thought that a new outfit, a new car, or a house would fulfill you and make you completely happy. Then, after you have that thing, another desire or want comes forth, only to have that cycle continue again and again. Of course I realize that there are real needs and real desires that do provide tremendous benefit and blessings, but these are often accompanied by other circumstances and people involved that completes the picture of needs met. Now let us look at another way to view wealth, through the eyes of the joined in Mind with Source perspective.
Here we come to understand that true wealth and happiness are found on the inside, within, rather than on the outside. To be at peace within yourself, doesn’t require a large bank account, nor a pension, nor a safety net in savings. Some of the most unhappy people are those who spend a lifetime protecting their nest egg and trying to add to it. Mental health issues, addiction, and criminality are high in this group, too. They are not necessarily fulfilled by the money they have, though their egos may project that they are better, somehow, than others.
To be at peace within yourself is to come to understand that you are perfect, whole, and free just as you are, just as you were created to be. That you are a direct inheritor from your Source and that you have Transcendent Universal Mind available to you to live by always, that you are not alone in the world, but are accompanied always by Me and your spiritual guide, there.
The Bible verse that says, ‘Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, and knock and the door will be opened unto you,’ truly gives us the way to access our needs and that which will provide true fulfillment as our Creator would have us be fulfilled. Now when you are asked to give your money to a cause, turn within to Me, and I will guide you in this, dear one. I will guide you. How wonderful you will feel when you know what you have done has truly helped another, who is indeed, a part of the Wholeness of you, the Oneness of our Source, there. To give is to receive, and you will benefit most directly, dear one, most directly, there. The wave of good feeling that accompanies helping others will come and much more there, much more! I love you dearly, and know that you are never alone.
To Give is to Receive
How wonderful to give God’s love,
To meet the human need,
To be the place where love comes forth,
With kindness—word, and deed.
Sometimes it’s the basics,
Food, clothing, or a ride,
Gifts of time and money,
To ‘be with’ by their side.
Let’s view it as a privilege,
To provide someone with care,
You’ll reap the warmth of living love,
When you reach out to share.
To give is to receive there,
You receive more than you bring,
A stream of healing love pours forth,
Renewing everything.
Join with Me to know, dear,
Just where and how to give,
I’ll let you know specifically,
I’ll show God’s way to live.
Hold those who are down trodden,
As equally, God’s own,
Intrinsic to the Wholeness,
They too, are not alone.
Brothers, sisters, family,
God’s One Great Movement there,
A privilege to help them,
A joy for us to share.
In closing, I am sharing,
To You, to All I tell,
Never alone forever,
Together, all is well!
