A New Commandment

The Bible says that Moses,

Brought to the people there, 

Upon tablets of stone, engraved,

Commandments, ten, to share. 

From God, these laws were given,

Behavior, to be aligned, 

Absolutes, not maybe’s,

Right and wrong defined. 

Passed down throughout the ages,

A moral code, indeed,

I would add another,

For this there is such need.

I would say turn inward, 

Find truth when joined with Me, 

I’m there within to guide you,

I’ll bring love’s clarity. 

A commandment, a request, an urging, 

Right knowing I will give,

Such a vital gift for you, 

I’ll show you how to live! 

Love, it is God’s energy, 

It powers what we do, 

God’s meaning there made manifest 

Right there, dear one, as you!

Right at this very moment,

I see what’s troubling you, 

I know what will move you forward, 

Real help, dear, I’ll bring through.

Not written on a stone tablet,

My words come forth in mind, 

Transforming and renewing, 

My love is what you’ll find. 

In closing, let Me say again, 

These words, I gladly share,

Never are you alone, dear, 

Within, I’m always there.
