Don’t Hold Back

You have the means to do it,

Why hold back your gift?

Send that check today, dear,

Give that one a lift!

More than just the money,

A message you will send,

A reminder to  that dear one,

Always,  he’s your friend. 

Yes, you have your needs, dear,

But trust you’ll have enough, 

To pay your bills, whatever,

To buy your needed stuff.

Give with generous heart, dear,

And mean it when you say, 

Thank you for your willingness, 

To share God’s love each day. 

Don’t hold back your love, dear,

Whether money, words, or deeds, 

Let it flow unceasingly,

’Tis what the world needs! 

You see, love is God’s flow, dear,

Let it move on through,

Nourishing and healing, 

It’s function to renew. 

Love’s a beam of light, dear,

And you, its radiance be, 

Lighting up the darkness, 

Helping others see. 

So close this poem and write the check, 

And mail it off today, 

Don’t hold back on giving,

Truly, it’s God’s way!
